Description
A superb set of four ebony bentwood side chairs by Thonet. Michael Thornet is credited for creating the iconic bentwood chair. He was a German-Austrian cabinet / furniture maker. To this day, his progeny still runs the business. This set has had its upholstery removed and is currently in a deconstructed state: saving one step when reupholstering. The seat backs have styled splats and turned stiles. A great little set for a breakfast nook or small eating area. c.1900.
