Small Russian parcel gilt and polychrome egg tempura painted wood panel icon representing Christ the Pantocrator, the ruler of the universe in Byzantine Church decoration. With a somber expression framed by long brown hair and beard, while wearing traditional robes, within three Cyrillic lettered and incised halos; one hand in blessing and one with opened gospels in Cyrillic text, bordered by a gilt arched portal with stamped palm frond details; enclosed by a Pan Slavic style gilt and crossed strapwork, the corners of the frame incised in celadon floral trim.
