American
Bec Brittain is a contemporary American lighting designer based in Brooklyn, New York. She is known for creating stunning, sculptural lighting fixtures that blur the line between art and design.
After studying product design at Parsons School of Design, Brittain worked as a lighting designer for a number of prominent firms before founding her own studio in 2011. Her designs often incorporate industrial materials such as metal and glass, and she is known for her innovative use of LED lighting technology.
Some of Brittain's most famous designs include the "Shy Light," a series of minimalist pendant lights that feature thin metal rods and delicate LED bulbs, and the "Maxhedron," a large, multifaceted chandelier that is made up of multiple triangular shapes.
In addition to her work as a lighting designer, Brittain is also known for her commitment to sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices. Her studio uses only eco-friendly materials and she works with local artisans to ensure that her designs are produced in a socially responsible manner.
