British School (19th C.) Antique Oil Landscape Painting of “A Hunting Party”

Description
A fine sweeping landscape, for being a relatively small work the detail throughout is simply outstanding. The painting depicts a large hunting party of riders and their mounts following the lead of their hounds as they follow a stag into the wooded grove. The landscape is stunning with a complex variety of trees intricately depicted before a river that rolls along the base of the series of mountains in the distance. It is a gorgeous little window into the past, full of life and movement under the clear blue summer skies.
Measurements: 14 7/8" H x 18" W [canvas]; 17 1/8" H x 20 3/8" W x 1 3/8" D [frame]
Condition Report:
Later frame with minor wear. Under UV examination, retouches visible to extreme edges where frame rubs, L-shaped scratch touched up in the upper-left sky, evaluation of lower quadrants somewhat obscured by later varnish. Scene is bright and vibrant, in good presentation-ready condition. -
