    Primary Wood: Mahogany
    Secondary Woods: Yellow Pine, Cedar Glue Blocks

    Reference: A vertically barred splat with a central ribbon or band uniting the bars was frequently used on Southern chairs. See Helen Comstock American Furniture, number 278. See also a similar splat on a side chair from Virginia in Ronald Hurst and Jonathan Prown Southern Furniture 1680-1830, number 28.
