Biography Ralph Carpentier
Living in the artist colony of Springs, East Hampton, Long Island, Ralph Carpentier primarily paints the landscape and vistas of his surroundings often with a romantic edge to them. He finds most of his subjects at the East end of Long Island, characteristic farmhouses, potato fields, beaches, and deep skies.
He has taught at the East Hampton School District, Southampton College, NYU, and the People's Art Center of MoMA. He has illustrated books for children and adults including An Illustrated History of East Hampton. He founded the East Hampton Town Marine Museum and has served as its director for many years. -
