Description
Impressive set of eight ladder-back dining chairs (six side, two captain) in rosewood attributed to Sorø Stolefabrik (circa 1960s, Denmark). From the luxe materials utilized to the exemplary craftsmanship / assembly, this exceptional set is of the highest quality, sharing both aesthetic and constructional attributes with a similar chair designed by Neils Moller. However, the subtle differences (the highly-sculpted legs / arms and the orientation of the rails on the back) make this set unique, offering a more elaborate, refined interpretation of the concept.
Originally acquired with a Henning Kjærnulf for Sorø Stolefabrik rosewood table (listed separately). Attributed to the same manufacturer, Sorø, but the designer remains unknown.
Webbing, foam, and Ralph Lauren caramel leather are all new, and the rosewood has been refinished; only minor wear remains.
Captain's chairs: H: 35.75" x D: 18" x L: 21.5" x Seat Height: 18" x Arm Height: 24.75"
