Mariana Lloyd
Brazilian, 1986
Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mariana Lloyd combines her background in graphic design with a studied passion for mosaics to create one-of-a-kind compositions inspired by geometry, nature, and technology. Lloyd’s work ranges from small-scale stimulating and colourful abstractions to a large-scale pictorial mural at “Nossa Senhora da Paz" subway station in Rio de Janeiro. Combining small pieces of glass and ceramic with non-traditional materials such as rocks and beads, the artist crafts imaginary landscapes where micro and macro intertwine, developing ideas of movement and belonging.
