French 18th Century Carved Oak Buffet
-
Description
A fabulous 18th century French buffet constructed of brilliantly aged solid oak. Two drawers sporting their original pulls are separated from one another by a meticulously carved, radiating flower, and are separated from the doors they surmount by fluted carvings. The doors are decorated with foliate carvings found above their shaped panel fronts, are hung on barrel hinges, and retain their original cut steel escutcheons. The interior cavity houses a single fixed shelf to accommodate out of sight storage. The piece’s rounded corners have fluted carvings that terminate at its shaped front feet.
