A gorgeous solid mahogany armoire, from the port of Normandy, France, circa 1780. This beautiful antique case piece was hand-carved from solid mahogany and is styled with intricately carved scrolled and geometric details. The top is shaped and adorned with some of these scrolled details. The doors contain working locks and close before a spacious interior. It is equipped with three shelves, all fixed, with the middle shelf having two finished drawers incorporated into it. The doors are hung on brass barrel hinges and have cut brass escutcheons. The skirt is sinuous, with a carved clover cartouche. These shapely lines are continued onto the scrolled feet that lift the exceptional antique armoire.
