Mid-Century Modern "Clair Obscure" Copper & Metal Sconces by RAAK of Amsterdam
-
Description
These graphic and sophisticated pair of "Clair Obscur" sconces were realized by RAAK of Amsterdam, circa 1960. Offering a pyramidal form composed of lacquered metal, they feature an abundance cylindrical copper rods that pierce one of the sloped sides of each sconce allowing a diffusion of light to escape. RAAK included celebrated designers including Nan Platvoet, Frank Ligtelijn, Nico Kooy, Jan Jaspers Fayer, Ger Fox and Ru Melchers. These rare and unusual sconces by one of Northern Europe's great Mid Century lighting ateliers are sure to add a touch sophistication to any interior. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent condition.
