Description
Two antique Rococo style gilt bronze candelabra
French, 19th Century
Height 42cm, width 29cm, depth 14cm
These beautiful gilt bronze (ormolu) candelabra are designed in a Rococo style, after decorative arts of the Louis XV period (1715-1774). The candelabra display many characteristics of the Rococo style, including elegance, organic sinuosity and asymmetry.
Each candelabra features three foliate curved arms which hold leafy drip-pans and capitals with sconces. Their stems are composed of twisting, serpentine leafy vines which spring from shaped bases. These bases stand on C-scrolls, on bun feet. - More Information
