Description
Vase from the “Camouflage” series designed by Daniel Folkmann Andersen (1885-1959) for Michael Andersen & Sons, having a low body and long flared neck, with the surface decorated using a network of distinctive piped slip “cloisons” applied in an organic, cloud-like pattern, evoking both the camouflage of WWI and the modeling style of the highly influential Art Nouveau artist/designer Thorvald Bindesboll, with fields glazed in cobalt blue and green applied with radiating strokes, crafted in hand-thrown earthenware, Denmark, 1916-1920, marked by impression “MA&S” and “1363”
