    A framed pencil/charcoal drawing of a figure by Robert Henri (1865-1929). The work depicts an old man dons a cape and a hat and holds an umbrella, and is likely a study by the artist. Robert Henri was an well-known American painter and teacher for his realism style. A leading figure of the Ashcan School and an organizer of the group known as "The Eight," a loose association of artists who protested the restrictive exhibition practices of the powerful, conservative National Academy of Design. The drawing bears the embossment of the artist's estate RH on the lower right corner and is matted and framed under glass in a gilt wood frame. The image shown is 7" w x 10"h. With frame it is 15"w x 17" h.
