Helle Damkjaer

Danish
Helle Damkjaer is a Danish industrial designer who has gained international recognition for her work in product design, particularly in lighting and furniture design. She graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1996 and has since established her own design studio in Copenhagen.

Damkjaer's design philosophy is focused on creating simple, functional objects that are beautiful, elegant, and timeless. She is known for her ability to combine traditional craft techniques with modern technology, and for her use of high-quality materials such as glass, metal, and wood.

Some of Damkjaer's most notable works include her designs for the lighting company Louis Poulsen, including the "Collage" pendant light and the "Cirque" pendant light, both of which feature geometric shapes and patterns that create a play of light and shadow. She has also designed furniture for the Danish brand Bolia, including the "Modular" sofa and the "Bord" coffee table, which combine clean lines and organic shapes to create pieces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
