Description
This rare and striking porcelain sculpture depicting a nude Japanese figure with fish was sculpted by Adolf (or Adolph) Amberg for KPM in 1905. "Nude with Fish" was a celbratory piece crafted for the wedding of the Prussian Crown Prince Wilhelm to Duchess Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. KPM was commissioned to create an extraordinary procession of 17 figures, two on the backs of an ox or horse with the others walking, often semi-nude or nude. This stunning figure, available at Showrooms2220, captures the human figure in all its beauty and sensuality. Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (or KPM) was famous for the high quality of its porcelain artware. KPM's plaques are a highly sought our objects today. The full set of processional figures is on display at the Bröhan Museum in Berlin, Germany.
