Ercol
British
Ercol was founded in 1920 by Italian designer Lucian R. Ercolani and has been a symbol of quality craftsmanship and innovative furniture design for over a century. Established in High Wycombe, England’s historic center for furniture making, Ercolani built the company on a foundation of integrity, functionality, and timeless aesthetics. Today, Ercol remains a family-owned business, with his great-grandson continuing the legacy of thoughtful, high-quality furniture design.
Design is at the heart of Ercol, evolving to meet the needs of modern living while maintaining a balance of style, comfort, and practicality. With a talented in-house design team and expert furniture technicians, Ercol creates pieces that are both contemporary and enduring. Collaborations with renowned UK designers further enhance the collection, bringing unique perspectives while upholding the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and integrity.
In 2002, Ercol moved to a state-of-the-art facility in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. Spanning 16,000 square meters, the factory seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology with traditional woodworking techniques to ensure precision and quality in every piece. Designed with sustainability in mind, the award-winning facility reflects Ercol’s dedication to environmentally responsible production. In addition to its UK operations, the company partners with trusted manufacturers worldwide to maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship.
The Ercol design studio, based in Princes Risborough, serves as a creative hub where traditional woodworking meets modern innovation. Ercol’s design philosophy prioritizes comfort, functionality, and timeless aesthetics. While the in-house team leads innovation, collaborations with both established and emerging designers bring fresh perspectives to the collection. Skilled draughtsmen translate these concepts into detailed technical blueprints, while CNC programmers and master craftsmen meticulously bring each piece to life, ensuring exceptional quality in every detail.
For over 100 years, Ercol has remained a leader in British furniture design, blending heritage with contemporary craftsmanship. The collection continues to embody the artistry and dedication that have defined the brand for generations.
