Transit Stripes by Nick Stavarides
-
Description
A trio of symbolic mythical fish with bird elements, drift and turn over a NY cityscape a background of letters spelling cloudy. Images of construction emerge and are obscured by the fog.
The rear reads
An homage to the striped bass my brother and I tagged in 1985. We worked right near the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant for a hatchery. We let them go in the ocean, Long Island sound and in the Hudson River along the Westside Highway among the dilapidated docks. -
