Composition of a Plaster Skull decorated with Butterflies
-
Description
A modern approach to taxidermy with this plastered skull covered with shells of green beetles. The helmet-like covering is made from the Blue Morpho butterfly, they are known to be one of the largest butterflies in the world. Fun fact: the butterfly’s outer wings are brownish in color and have six ‘eyes’. This makes the predators believe they’re a bigger creature than they actually are. The plastered skull dates from around the 21st century and stands on a wooden pedestal.
