Charles II antique silk work embroidery picture. The embroidery is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Colors blues, cream, gold, greens and browns. Pictorial scene depicts a biblical scene of Abraham and Sarah sending away Hagar. Motifs include wonderfully detailed examples of a lion, birds, insects, flowers and fruits. And a castle can be seen in the background. Framed in an old, possibly original, walnut wood frame with glass. Mounting: The embroidery is tacked to a wood stretcher frame. Frame backed with acid free cardboard. Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.

Some of the colours are faded, but still defined. Frame showing some wear, otherwise sound.
