Description
A large and heavy Japanese keyaki wood carving of Nitta no Shiro defeating a giant wild boar. In the 12th/13th century this warrior in the service of Minamoto helped him rise to military ruler of Japan. The carving dates to 18th or 19th century. From the collection of a retiring dealer.
