A rare Indian carved calligraphic marble tile, circa 1860
Hand carved with a cusped cartouche containing lines of dense thuluth calligraphy. Sitting on a custom made stand. Extremely fine piece.
Measures: Tile: 8.5? high x 18? wide x 1? deep.
Translation:
Everything is Perishable except his (God’s) countenance
