    Extremely Rare pair of English- Scottish George II Mahogany Tripod Sidetables having the most superb untouched natural colour and patination.

    Michaels personal view and slip of veneer " untouched colour is paramount in assesing the beauty of English- Scottish Eighteenth Century Georgian Furniture.

    The tables are of a distinct design for use as sidetables - consoles, and have a tipping mechanism allowing the two tables to be used side by side as a supper table.

    English- Scottish tables of this type are normally circular in shape, making this rectancular model a particularly rarity.

    Provenance ... DUNROBIN CASTLE in SUTHERLAND is one of the most celebrated and largest Scottish ancestral houses. Expanded during the reign of Queen Victoria - there are 189 rooms - it was used by the Sutherland family for entertaining during the Scottish season. Queen Victoria herself was a visitor and would have marveled at the historic treasures held within.

    Home to the Earls of Sutherland and later the Dukes of Sutherland. Lord Strathnaver quote "proud of his family home of over seven hundred years"
