Mr. Brainwash
French
Mr Brainwash is the alias of Thierry Guetta (born 1966 in France), a Los Angeles–based street and pop artist known for his exuberant, color-drenched works that fuse graffiti, stenciling, and iconic images from art history and pop culture. Originally a vintage clothing store owner and amateur videographer, he filmed prominent street artists before launching his own art career under the encouragement of Banksy.
He burst into the public eye with his 2008 debut Life Is Beautiful exhibit in LA, a multimedia installation filled with bold imagery, neon hearts, and famous faces like Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, and Einstein. His art often spreads messages of positivity—"Follow Your Dreams," "Life Is Beautiful," and "Love"—layered atop frenetic spray-painted backgrounds.
Since then, Mr Brainwash has become a global phenomenon. He's designed Madonna's Celebration album cover, created massive murals including 9/11 tributes, and collaborated with brands like Coca‑Cola, Mercedes-Benz, and Marvel. Though some critics question the originality of his work, his vibrant, optimistic style resonates worldwide, and his pieces have fetched six-figure sums at auction.
