Description
Jean Derval and (1925-2010) and Gustave Reynaud (1915-1972) for Atelier Le Mûrier.
Twelve plates decorated with fantastic birds and fish.
Gustave Reynaud is documented in 1956 in Vallauris; he founded the Le Murier pottery, and there sold table services based on the models of his brother-in-law Jean Derval; he works with the turner J-F Descombes, and the decorator Michel Barbier.
His ceramics have a stylized vegetal or animal decoration with a somewhat naive charm; sometimes extraordinary animals, underlined by red copper enamels fired in reduction around 1100°, or cobalt blue on a grey-beige background. - More Information
