Mid-20th Century Swedish Neutral Colors Wool Rug by Ingegerd Silow Woven "IS"

$ 8,000
  • Description
    Ingegerd Silow was an internationally known master weaver and designer. Her involvement in the development and popularization of Swedish weaving left a tremendous impact on local craft. Silow passed away in 2005, leaving a legacy of stunning Swedish rugs, a legacy that this vintage rug is a proud part of. Handmade of highest quality materials circa 1950, this antique carpet embodies everything that is best about Swedish weaving - beauty and durability. While the pattern might seem simple for some, a closer look at the area rug reveals how much skill its creator had. The central filed is left largely empty, save for a few lines dividing it. However, at the top and bottom edge we can see a row of beautiful figures with a bits of color in the center.
