Mid-20th century French Art Deco Design Beige, Black, Orange Handmade Wool Rug

$ 12,000
  • Description
    Art Deco rugs combine ancient weaving craft with rather contemporary aesthetics, incorporating such iconic design influences as neoclassicism, constructivism, cubism, minimalism, modernism or art nouveau. This vintage rug, created circa 1948, is an example of French Deco.

    The field of the midcentury rug carries an abstract design whose main strength lies in its color palette. The combination of orange, beige and black is balanced and invigorating. The composition is finished with a fringe at the shorter edges of the rug.

    The French Deco rug was made by hand of high-quality wool in accordance with traditional techniques. Under the condition of proper maintenance, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear.
