Bamboo, Rocks, and Stream, dated 1881
Hanging scroll; ink on paper

Bamboo by rocks and a long inscription
Signed Daichin’ō, and dated 1881, with three seals reading Hyakunen, Seise itsumin, and another.
Comes with a fitted kiri-wood double box, with inscription on outside of inner lid: Painting of wind-blown bamboo; signed and dated (1927) by Konishi Fukunen (1887-1959) who certifies this to be the work of Hyakunen. Fukunen was a noted painter and student of Suzuki Shōnen, Hyakunen’s son.
