18th c. Swedish Gustavian Mora Working Tall Case Clock in Original Paint
-
Description
An 18th century Swedish Mora clock from the Gustavian period hand-scraped to reveal the original paint surface, circa 1790. Truly a stunning long case clock from top to bottom. The bonnet features a carved torch finial and the bottom of the elongated case rests on a bracket base. Original face, clockworks, pendulum and weights. This clock has been cleaned and serviced and is operating with its original works. A beautiful Mora clock that strikes on the hour and half hour with a double bell chime. If you'd prefer that the clock operate without its original movement, a quartz movement can be added for an additional fee. The quartz movement would operate the time and hourly chime, although the chime can be turned off, if desired.
