Description
French wooden rustic 19th-century armchair with an organically shaped base, straight armrests and a lift-up rectangular seat. The boxed seat can be opened to reveal a storage compartment. With its remarkable patina, the design reminds us of the wabi-sabi philosophy which centres around the appreciation of the beauty of natural imperfection. The idea involves the understanding that everything ages with grace, and becomes more beautiful as it breaks, fades, or scars. It is the understanding that old and worn out things have their own elegant charm. The simplicity of the lines, combined with its remarkable woodworking and craftsmanship, will allow this French armchair to bring a touch of authenticity to any home.
