Mid-Century Modern Streamlined Waterfall Bench in Chrome & Smoked Velvet

Description
This glamorous Mid Century Modern waterfall bench was realized in the United States circa 1970. It features a dramatic streamlined form newly reupholstered in a beautiful smoked velvet. The perimeter of the piece is wrapped in tubular chrome with traces the sides and wraps around the bottom. This piece represents a first rate example of the Art Deco revival movement in American design history during the 1970's and 80's, wherein motifs (in this case the iconic streamlined form) from fifty and sixty years prior were reprised with stunning effect. This combination of old and new- in addition to its austere and graphic silhouette and refined color palate make this piece as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. The bench has been newly upholstered and the chrome is in excellent vintage condition.
