Description
Rare large multicolor lucite 4 column sculpture #2416 with original white laminate base by Vasa Studio, American 1985 (signed, numbered and dated “#2416 Vasa 85” in lucite, comes with original invoice dated 3/16/85). Large multitower sculptures by Vasa are very hard to come by. This one is exceptional.
Vasa Mihich is a Yugoslavian-born artist living and working in Los Angeles. He taught for many years as a senior professor of Design at UCLA. Mihich's work has appeared in museums internationally, and is featured in private collections at the Honolulu Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, the San Diego Museum of Art, Wilhelm Lehmbrech Museum, the Denver Art Museum, and the Hammer Museum. His work has also been exhibited at the Feigen-Palmer Gallery in Los Angeles, and appeared in the major show "American Sculptures of the Sixties" at the LACMA.
