Petite French Empire Commode
-
Description
This wonderful Empire mahogany commode was created in 19th century France. Topped with a removable piece of black fossil granite with rounded front corners. The apron houses a hidden drawer without hardware, it opens easily with groves hidden on the underside of the drawer. Three lower drawers each feature a pair of highly decorative cast brass pulls with a beautiful floral motif and simple brass inset keyholes. No key is present for this piece. Recently cleaned and polished with French wax paste; the bookmatched mahogany veneer has gained a warm patina. There is some minor wear to the drawer edges, adding to its antique charm. Make sure to view the detailed images for a closer look at this petite case piece.
