Exhibited Framed Fine Chinese Embroidery Silk Panel Qing Dynasty

Description
A very fine embroidered silk panel in giltwood frame originally from the Annette Martin Collection and exhibited at the Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco February 8th - March 8th, 1975. The salmon color panel used to one of the pair panels that adorned a woman's skirt either front or back. It was beautifully embroidered with butterfly in flowers motif with folded borders. Silk threads of subtle colors in white, blue and green were used to contrast the background. Very delicate long and short satin stiches were used to create the image with crouched stitches used for the antennas of the butterfly.
Displayed in a period giltwood frame with brass hanging hinge and none-reflective glass. A paper label from the exhibition remains verso. A digital copy of the press release of the exhibition aforementioned accompanies the piece.
