Two Sergio Asti "Collina" Vases, Ceramic, Metallic Silver Glaze, Italy, 1970s. Two vases from Sergio Asti's four-part Collina (hill in Italian) series, produced by Gabbianelli, glazed in metallic platinum silver, with the visible interior glazed in black. The vessels are mirror-image quarter-sections of the stepped "hill" form, designed to be displayed edge to edge or individually. The vases were rented for a Christian Dior photo shoot in 2015. Both vessels are signed with a clear adhesive sticker bearing the designer's signature, and additionally signed with a paper label reading: Made in Italy. A few minor glaze losses to the graduated ridges of both vases, exposing the ceramic body beneath. Each vase measures: 10 inches height x 8.5 inches wide x 8 inches deep.
