Description
Impressive and fine 18th century George III mahogany bureau or sectretaire bookcase with swan-neck pediment cornice centered by a carved urn finial and carved floral detail at the corners over a gothic freeze, over a pair of doors with very unusual astragal glazing in the shape of urns with the interior fitted with two adjustable shelves. The lower section with slant front opening to a superb fitted interior with satinwood fronted drawers and center door with original key, over four graduated, oak lined drawers with pressed brass oval handles, all raised on elegant French feet and scalloped apron. Original keys to slant front and drawers. The drawers are lined with blue sugar paper.
