    William Barnet (1911-2012)

    Images of Children, Woodcuts and Etchings

    The eight prints in this portfolio were created by Will Barnet from 1937 to 1940.

    The woodcuts were printed by Paul Marcus of New York in January and February 1928 on Sekishu, a Japanese Kozo paper.

    Peter, 1940 (First edition, 15 printed in seven colors)

    Child Reading, 1940 (First edition 25)

    The etchings were printed by Stephen Sholinsky of Stem Graphics, New York, in November and December 1981, on Rives Heavyweight paper

    The Book, 1938 (First edition 40)

    City Child, 1938 (First edition 30)

    The Zither, 1939 (First edition 25)

    Sleeping Mother, 1949 (First edition 25)

    The total number of impressions for this edition in 78 from each plate.

    The regular edition of each subject is 60, numbered 1/60 through 60/60.

    Ten artist's proof suited are I/X through X/X.

    There are five collaborator's suites, identified A, B, C, D, and E, plus two printers' proofs sets, and a bon a tirer set.

    The plates and blocks have been cancelled and a "cancellation proof" has been pulled from each plate. The signing and numbering were completed by the artist in March 1982.

    The suite is number 35, followed by a signature of the artist, Will Barnet.

    This work was published by Associated American Artist, New York, 1982.
