6 Volumes. Samuel Johnson, The Works of Samuel Johnson. Bound in full tan calf with borders in gilt. Raised band spines with panels displaying beautifully ornate floral gilt detailing and labels in green and red with gilt lettering and floral detailing. All edges are marbled with marbled endpapers. Includes an essay on his life and genius by Arthur Murphy, Esq. and a portrait frontispiece. Published by Luke Hanfard in London, 1806.
