First Edition. Including facsimile letters throughout. Extensive illustrative portraits throughout. Illustrated frontispieces. 363 plates, 4 color plates, 12 facsimiles, tissue guards. Finely bound in contemporary red Morocco leather. Spines ornately gilt in compartments separated by raised bands. Gilt foliage design in center. Top edges gilt. Blue Morocco inlay and doublures tooled in gilt foliage design on beautiful inner covers with blue silk endpapers. Red and white silk bookmarkers. Binding by Rawson & Nicholson. Published London: Tinsley Brothers, 1867.
