    George Nelson Stool for Herman Miller, USA - 1960s in all original condition with the rare brown base George Nelson (1908-1986) was an American industrial designer and architect who played a significant role in the development of modernist design in the United States. Nelson was a prolific designer who created a wide range of products, from chairs and tables to clocks and lamps. He was also a pioneer in the use of new materials, such as fiberglass and plastic, which allowed for new forms and shapes in furniture design. Nelson is perhaps best known for his iconic designs for Herman Miller. His designs were innovative in their use of materials and their sculptural forms, and they helped to establish Herman Miller as a leading manufacturer of modernist furniture in the mid-20th century.
