An elegant and timeless pair of Italian mid-century wall sconces attributed to Max Ingrand and Fontana Arte. The sconces are in the Modern Neoclassical style and are of rare design and the highest quality of manufacture. They feature a hand sculpted and tapered brass bases that delicately encase the stem of the opaline glass reflectors. The stems are works of art and they are matched by the delicate mold blown opaline glass reflectors who sensuous gently curving and tapering form is exquisite. Overall, the pieces achieve the highest level as works of art and sculpture.
Max Ingrand was the foremost designer of lighting, mirrors and glass objects during the 1950-1960 period. Fontana Arte produced many of his works and had the highest standards of production. -
