Description
A design chair by Patricia Urquiola with a soft, enveloping shape that offers contemporary comfort with a well-developed sense of environmental awareness.
Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain in 1961. She attended the University of Architecture at Madrid Polytechnic and Milan Polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. In 2001 she opened her own studio working on product design, architecture, and installations. Patricia's works can be seen in various Museums such as MoMA in New York, Les arts decoratifs in Paris and Museum of Design in Zurich among others. She has won several international prizes and awards including “Designer of the decade” for two German magazines. In September 2015 Patricia Urquiola nominated Art Director of Cassina.
Cassina was established in 1927 in the Northern region of Brianza, Italy, an area noted for its skilled artisans and woodworkers. Rooted in high quality Italian craftsmanship Cassina began acquiring licenses to reproduce some of the worlds most well renowned furniture designs. Cassina’s mission is to provide extremely high quality products by paying close attention to every step of the manufacturing process. From woodworking to upholstery, their attention to detail and perfection is unmatched. The incredible quality of materials leads to the most amazing expression of form and function celebrating new design as well as highlighting notable designs of the past.

Use and Care: Remove dust with a soft cloth; carpet beaters and vacuum cleaners could damage the padding and the upholstery. Stains must be dealt with as quickly as possible, using a clean white cloth moistened with lukewarm water and, if needed, a purpose-specific detergent. Never apply the detergent directly to the fabric. It is crucial to manually work from the edges of the stain toward the centre. Allow to dry in the open air; do not iron or steam. To avoid damage to the slipcover, place protective tape over the Velcro strip on each slipcover every time the item is dry cleaned or hand laundered. Follow the care instructions indicated on the fabric label. • Gentle dry cleaning: take your item to a specialized dry cleaner. If there are stains, tell the dry cleaner the source of the stain. After cleaning, the slipcovers should not be stored in hermetically sealed containers. • Water washing: hand wash (do not machine wash) at temperatures no higher than 30°C (86°F). For best results, turn sofa covers inside out before laundering. Use mild soap only, free of optical whiteners, because many commonly-available detergents contain bleaching agents that can alter colours. Hang the laundered covers to drip dry. - More Information
