Description
The Bowy sofa is an inventive modular sofa designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina. It has soft and welcoming curves that can be positioned in various ways. Its characteristic shape features a rounded armrest that directly meets the backrest and emerges beyond the seat units. Expertly finished with edge-stitching that delineates the lines of the various elements.
Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain in 1961. She attended the University of Architecture at Madrid Polytechnic and Milan Polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. In 2001 she opened her own studio working on product design, architecture, and installations.
Patricia's works can be seen in various Museums such as MoMA in New York, Les arts decoratifs in Paris and Museum of Design in Zurich among others. She has won several international prizes and awards including “Designer of the decade” for two German magazines. In September 2015 Patricia Urquiola nominated Art Director of Cassina.
