Maki-e gold lacquer on wood with silver inlays and silver rims
Size writing box: 1¾ x 9¾ x 7½ in (4.5 x 24.8 x 19 cm)
Size document box: 4¾ x 16 x 12¾ in. (12.3 x 40.4 x 31.6 cm)
Exquisite set with décor in gold maki-e on black lacquer of fall grasses and flowers and inlaid with silver characters; inside the writing a silver suiteki water dropper in moon shape, and lacquer décor of butterflies on gold nashiji ground; both boxes with silver rims.
Each comes with its original lacquered kiri-wood storage box signed by the artist Miyazaki Heiando, each storage box inscribed on top in silver lacquer. -
