Description
Pair of Danish Mid-Century Modern table lamps by Nils Thorsson for Fog & Morup
These table lamps were designed by Royal Copenhagen's head designer for the BACA series, Nils Thorsson in the 1960s. The lamps were produced by Danish company Fog & Morup. The base is made of stoneware and features Thorssons famous pattern showing abstract patterns of birds and flowers in neutral shades of brown, beige, and white.
The lamps are in very good condition with marks dating their production. The lamp's base measures 16 cm in height and 7 cm width and depth. Both bear full printed factory marks on the base, including Royal Copenhagen / Denmark / Fajance over Nils Thorsson's artist cipher.
Nils Johan Thorvald Thorsson (1898–1975) was a Swedish-Danish ceramic artist, a prolific designer, and the Artistic Director of Royal Copenhagen. Thorsson's work exemplifies midcentury Danish modernism; he designed the Baca production range in the 1960s.
The lamps have been rewired for use in Europe. If to be used elsewhere, these can either be used with an adapter or have to be rewired for local use by an electrician (super easy) -
