    WILLIAM HUDSON TALL CASE CLOCK
    Tantum Family Chippendale Tall Case Clock with works by William Hudson, working from circa 1773 to 1810
    Mount Holly, New Jersey   Circa 1790
    Case attributed to Joseph Brumley

    Primary Wood: Cherry
    Secondary Wood: Yellow Pine Seatboard and Back

    Height: 8 feet 3 inches
    Width: 20 1/2 inches
    Depth: 10 3/4 inches

    Provenance: According to a family journal, John Tantum purchased 240 acres in Nottingham Township in Burlington County New Jersey in 1699 and built a house which was standing until 1909, the year the journal was written. The clock was probably made for John's relation, Joseph Tantum who was alive in 1774. The family was a member of the “Friends Society.”
