Description
Incredibly rare single-board top and base made from Elmwood, with a butterfly and free edges. The first Frenchman's Cove table was designed by George Nakashima in 1959 for a Jamaican resort project. The design represents a culmination of variations on a single-pedestal base. The single central post of earlier versions is multiplied to support a larger square or rectangular table-top, with a heavy rectangular stretcher an the floor to complete the stronger architectonic under-structure that characterizes this design.
