This elegant Art Deco Machine Age skyscraper side/ occasional table was realized in the United States circa 1935. It features a two skyscraper style top in burled walnut (showcasing a dramatic natural woodgrain) with a slightly inset center banded in black lacquer. The rectangular legs (also in walnut) have a pair of banded details running down the sits and shift towards the center where they meet the floor creating an x form base. Sculptural undulating embellishments in black lacquer the right angled joints of the supports offering a striking and idiosyncratic design detail that offers a compelling formal counterpoint to the geometric forms expressed throughout. With its quintessentially Art Deco materials (and motifs), this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of the period as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. It has been newly restored to mint condition.
