Rare French Small Gilt Bronze Box by Line Vautrin
-
Description
A small gilt bronze pill box by French Parisian art jeweler Line Vautrin (1913-1997) circa 1940-50s. The rather rare round box features a relief-cast spider on the lid. The interior retains the cork lining likely original. The base is marked "LV" as shown.
In our research, we have only seen bronze buttons made in the identical design around 1940s. Apparently Vautrin also made the design into small boxes, probably in small quality.
