Large carved white marble campagna-form garden urn
Continental, 19th Century
Height 60cm, diameter 42cm
Crafted from white marble, this fine garden urn is carved in the familiar campagna form of that of the well-known Medici vase to make an elegant, grand statement piece, full of Neoclassical style and presence. 60cm tall and 42cm in diameter, it was made in the late nineteenth century, utilising a much loved design attested to from Windsor to the Royal courts of Russia, with gadrooning and a square pedestal, to elevate this piece's simple function into one of grander Classical flair and sophistication. -
